A small allocation £5,000 was set aside to enable a local organisation, Progress2Work, to provide training courses or help to overcome other barriers to enable unemployed people on the estate to secure work. 22 people were provided with support, of which to date, 13 secured work.
The programme is being extended for a further 12 months and it is seen as providing an opportunity, especially for young people, to get employment.
