Anglesey, Wales - Play Officer

Project: Ynys Mon Children and Young Peoples Partnership

Dates: Mar 11-Feb 13

Amount awarded: £92,000

About

The long-awaited Play Officer has been appointed and started very strongly in her new post, thanks in no small measure to the amount of pre-planning done by Panel members, and by the mentoring of two Panel members whose jobs directly relate to hers. Her role is clearly contextualised within the Anglesey Play Strategy (which the Panel had been instrumental in supporting), and complements work being undertaken by the Fair Share-funded Play Wales project, and also the lottery funded Play Rangers project which covers three local authorities in the North East. Such is the level of complementarity and added-value between these three initiatives, that the Play Officer has been appointed as the local Anglesey line manager for the Play Rangers based on the island.
