About

The Fair Share panel agreed a grant to a community transport organisation called WATBUS in June 2011. This was to provide a budget for groups from Seaton Valley to be able to hire a minibus and driver for trips and events. There is also a budget for MIDAS training. The grant signifies progress in the Fair Share area for the following reasons: - representatives from all community centres jointly agreed that a grant would have to benefit all centre's equally, with a certain number of 'hires' designated per area. - MIDAS training was considered crucial for volunteers from all areas so that the grant would have a lasting impact. - a condition of the grant is that WATBUS works closely with the Community Development Worker employed through Fair Share funding to ensure that all centres and groups are benefitting from the service.
