Grant to support the organisation to develop a strategic plan for the next 5 years. Another example of the importance of good timing in investment decisions – For All Healthy Living Centre.
This organisation was one of the first to receive funding in the early days of the Fair Share Trust. At a time when FST was providing training opportunities for local organisations, the director of the emerging Healthy Living Centre came forward for particular support to develop the organisation's capacity in the face of a rapidly developing partnership project with the potential for attracting significant funding in the future. Although the training did not address the particular needs of the Healthy Living Centre itself this did broker a contact between the organisation and the FST programme.
When subsequently the FST local panel agreed to broaden the use of the training fund the outcome for the For All Healthy Living Company was a five-year plan setting out the basis for fundraising activities, a reaffirmation of the partnership and a mandate from all partners to pursue the work programme, and the involvement of local people in setting the direction. It is on the basis of this plan that the company has developed to date and it has been very successful.
For All Healthy Living Company has recently been awarded an additional £7000 by Fair Share Trust to repeat the business planning and partnership development process for the next five years. (DIGITS ref: 18995). This history illustrates again that timely investment in a growing organisation can reap disproportionate rewards.
