Who manages the Fair Share Trust?

Posted on Wed 18 June 2008

Big Lottery Fund (previously New Opportunities Fund & Community Fund) chose Community Foundation Network (CFN) to manage the Fair Share Trust on a national basis.

CFN appointed local partners to deliver the Fair Share Trust locally. There are currently 29 Fair Share Trust 'Local Agents' who are responsible for the management of the programme and delivery of grants in each Fair Share Trust neighbourhood.

The decision whether or not to fund a project is taken by the local agent, not CFN. This is because the Fair Share Trust is about enabling local communities to work with local agents to make decisions.
