County Durham Foundation gives grants to local good causes that make a real difference to people’s quality of life in County Durham and Darlington. Individuals, families, local companies and public bodies make this possible by setting up funds with us. We fulfil their wishes by ensuring that the right projects that really need their support are chosen, with as much involvement from them in the decision making as they wish.

If you decide to become a County Durham Foundation fund holder we can set up your fund with the minimum of bureaucracy, fuss and cost to yourself.

As a fund holder you can have as much or as little say in how your fund is used as you wish including making the decisions over who to support. With the added security of knowing that each grant given is backed up by a detailed seven-stage assessment process delivered by us to you, using our professional expertise and knowledge of the local community to ensure that your support only goes to those that really need it.

Darlington

0. Increase Partnership and other community group capacity, including the employment of a Fair Share Community Development Worker or other workers, as appropriate, with the aim to encourage training, support project management and participate in local regeneration initiatives to the highest standard.
0. Ensure development of community facilities (buildings and outdoor spaces), to enable provision of adequate, accessible and inclusive community facilities to house local community groups and expand the range of services and activities on offer.
0. Provide funding and improve local access to services, with the aim to further co-ordinate services and activities as well as promote inclusion and support regeneration projects.
0. Influence multiple deprivation issues (except housing), through creative, new, additional and complementary projects and activities that enhance community well-being and encourage positive lifestyles.
