Derbyshire Community Foundation

Derbyshire Community Foundation is an independent local charity, which, with the support and generosity of local individuals, companies and charitable trusts is building an endowment fund to benefit Derbyshire people in perpetuity. Income generated by our fund is used to make grants to voluntary and community groups, to tackle disadvantage and improve the quality of life for people throughout our county. By linking local donors with local needs in this way, we are able to address the problems of today and the issues facing future generations.

We administer a number of different funding streams as well as our own general fund. Each fund has its own specific criteria and application process. For further information, please visit the Grants section of our website.

Your donation can be used to benefit areas of specific interest to you. Whether you would like to help your local community, or would prefer that your donation is targeted in a particular area such as; the Arts, Sport , Education, Environment, Young People, Children, Health, Rural, Urban or the Elderly. Local priorities

Bolsover

1. Development work to support local initiatives such as newsletters(the ‘Post Mill’ for South Normanton and ‘Top to Bottom’ for Pinxton)but also to develop other areas of community work.
2. Youth Work: Specifically designated to develop funding and other opportunities in the area rather than focusing on direct delivery of youth work provision
3. Regeneration of the commercial centres and social spaces of both communities.  The aim of this priority is to involve working with the local communities with an emphasis on including young people

Derby City

1. Support and develop community capacity
2. Youth work
3. Crime prevention and community involvement
4. Training and education
