East London Community Foundation

We cover: Barking & Dagenham, Enfield

East London Community Foundation is an independent registered charity covering London boroughs across East and North East London.

East London Community Foundation’s aim is to improve the quality of life of local people and of people living in London as a whole. We do this by encouraging local giving. Our focus is on building better and stronger communities for future generations.

We have two key roles:

We act to deliver services to local donors and people thinking of becoming donors, working with individuals, organisations and companies to establish and then manage a wide range of charitable funds.

We act as a bridge between donors and local good causes – local groups and voluntary sector charities ensuring that grants are used to address real needs, problems and issues.

Local priorities

Barking & Dagenham

  1. Creating viable long term activities and opportunities for the young people of the area to become positive active members of the community.

  3. To promote improved health. This may be through the development of better information, opportunities to eat a healthy diet and to exercise, or other initiatives.
  4. To enable the voluntary sector agencies to work together for better services and more local involvement by promoting the development of local organisations.

Enfield

  1. Encourage an active, healthy, thriving and inclusive community in Ponders End, improving the quality of life and well-being of all residents.
  2. Encourage and support the people of Ponders End to access a wide range of services, resources and information and participate in the local Place-Shaping initiative.
  3. Support joined-up provision of activities for children and young people in Ponders End to enable them to develop into active members of an inclusive society.
  4. Expand the opportunities for life-long learning, training, enterprise and employment to enable local people to develop economic security.
