On 14th October, Merseyside Community Foundation's CEO, Cathy Elliott, was interviewed on Radio 4's 'The World Tonight' prior to their issuing a response to the Big Society in Merseyside. Merseyside CF are one of the three local players that have been active in making the local 'vanguard Big Society area' happen.

During the radio programme, local projects in Huyton, Knowsley (a FST area) are interviewed on the role of volunteers and the future for the sector. To hear the programme in full, click here (the piece starts at 16:35 minutes).

The following report, issued on 15th October, considers the aims of the Big Society and its potential impact in each of the six boroughs of Merseyside - 4 of which encompass Fair Share Trust areas. The report draws on 100 interviews in Merseyside, as well as their own research on the synergy between their work and the Big Society agenda, and also makes a number of references to Fair Share Trust.
