myplace - possible match funding opportunity (England only)
Posted on Wed 30 July 2008
Some of the key similarities between myplace and Fair Share Trust are:
Both programmes aim to work with the people who will benefit - myplace applications must show how young people have been involved throughout the planning process and will be involved in the ongoing management , and both programmes emphasise the importance of partnership working - myplace applications must be from cross-sector partnerships which include at least one public body and at least one organisation from the third or private sectors (please note a public body may be a local authority, health authority, school or similar with a key role to play in youth provision). All applications to myplace must be endorsed by your top-tier local authority, but an organisation from any sector (public, private or third) can lead the application.
Because of these similarities, bids relating to activities for young people in FST areas could have a real advantage in the application process.
myplace applications must be a partnership between a statutory body and a third sector organisation - either can be the lead, but the partnership must exist and be signed off by the chief executive of the top-tier local authority in the area.
myplace is a non-lottery funded programme, which Big Lottery Fund (BIG) is delivering on behalf of the Department for Children, Schools and Families.
