At the Panel Meeting on 2nd June, we received an update about the BEGI, in particular the E-Factor. This is a scheme to support enterprise growth in North East Lincolnshire. The revised Business Plan is awaited from the new MD.
Panel Membership is an ongoing Agenda item. The two Development Workers have identified a representative from each of the resident led Forward Groups who would be interested in becomiing Panel Members. They will be invited to the next meeting. Representation from V Involved is also expected shortly.
The Panel discussed the relevance of Development Trusts to the programme. NELC is currently developing a Community Assets Management Programme. Update to follow.
Panel received updates from the two Community Development Workers.
Emerging Legacy and sustainability strategy - these agenda items are interlinked. The Panel also discussed the forthcoming BIG Visit by Sir Clive Booth and Margaret Cooney. It was agreed that we commission CPO Media to put together a prospectus. This will include a celebration of the Fair Share funded projects and also identify gaps where funding can be utilised now. The Evaluation Report can be used to support this.
The Panel also wanted to continue with the East Meets West Magazine which had been well received by community groups and residents. CPO Medial to prepare a proposal for continuation of this for a second year. The Panel would like this to include a historical section, to add to the success of a book called Women Left Behind. This should relate specifically to the Fair Share area.
Other funding opportunities for groups in the area were identified - Grassroots Grants oversubscribed 5:1. Youth fund extension of funding to be considered at next meeting to try to meet some of these needs.
Local Agent reported the imminent release of a Toolkit for sustainability.
Next meeting 22nd September at the offices of Grimsby Telegraph.
