Local Update for December 2008

The Fair Share Panel met on 8th December. Points for discussion included Panel Membership - one member had resigned. It was agreed that we would try to recruit a resident using the Fair Share Funded Magazine, East Meets West. Local Agent to provide a piece for publication alongside an appeal for potential panel members.
Members of the local press (Grimsby Telegraph) and Radio (Compass FM) came along. Both are running some publicity about the fund.
The main business of the day was taken up discussing the recent Evaluation undertaken and action points associated with it (see download). These include circulating the document as widely as possible to promote the fund and use it as a tool to leve in additional funding. One of the recommendations is that Community Development Workers undertake a mapping exercise of the third sector in the two Fair Share Areas.
Matters to be put on the Agenda for the next meeting in March included Development Trusts, Fair Share Legacy, Emerging Strategy, Exit/Sustainability Strategy.
The meeting conlcuded with a lovely Christmas lunch for Panel Members.
