March 2009 Panel Meeting

At the Panel meeting on 9th March 2009, the newly appoionted MD at E-Factor (Mark Webb) provided an update about the Scheme. Efforts were being concentrated on creating as many sustainable enterprises as possible (inlcuding young enterprise) and there were 15 Enterprise Advisors available to support this. There had been misconceptions about the scheme in the past, but he hoped these had been clarified. The FS Panel and E-Factor would work together in future to generate local enterprise. Reponse to a local Panel recuitment campaign had been poor. CDW's to work with Forward groups to promote opportunity and recruit local people. CDW's to attend all future panel meetings in an advisory capacity. A decision on the stance made about Development Trust to be deferred, subject to having all relevant information. FS legacy to be linked to National aims and objectives. Discussion about the possiblity of developing a local consortium that could put together joint funding bids to support the whole FS area, rather than individual bids. CDW to convene a meeting and explore possibilities. Possible visit by the Chair of BIG Lottery in April. LA to report further. LA had given an interview to Guardian newspaper. All good for local area and raising awareness.
